SUPERFIT athlete Rob ward has praised his pet whippet Spartacus for her help in his achieving a marvellous two hours and 43 minutes finishing time in the London Marathon last month.

Before becoming ill Spartacus was an integral part of Rob’s training for the gruelling race on the streets of the English capital. Two-year-old Spartacus suffered an illness just a month before the big race and ultimately required the services of an emergency blood transfusion to save her life.

With this in mind, Rob nominated the Pet Blood Bank as the charity he would be supporting via his run in the marathon. More information on the pet blood bank can be found at www.petbloodbankuk.org.
