GREYHOUND owners the length and breadth of the country will be heading to Nottingham Racecourse on Saturday, September 15 for the 6th annual Great Greyhound Gathering.
The Great Greyhound Gathering is an exciting day out for everyone, sure to delight and entertain the whole family. Throughout the day there will not only be classes for greyhounds, but there will also be classes for other breeds of companion dogs as well as entertaining novelty classes. With 31 classes overall, visitors are guaranteed to see some of the best looking and best behaved dogs around.
It's not just the dog classes. There will be fifty trade stands offering a wide range of unique gifts, doggy accessories including leads and collars, muzzles, dog beds, cages and a whole lot more and tasty refreshments just to name a few.
Many Retired Greyhound Trust branches will also be attending, so visitors can find out more about the important work of the Trust and interact with greyhounds looking for loving homes.
Of course the star attraction of the day, and perhaps what most people will be excited to see, will be the hundreds of greyhounds in attendance. If you are a greyhound owner and want to treat your four-legged friend to a great day out, this in the perfect opportunity. If however you are thinking of adopting a greyhound or would just like to find out more about them, this is the perfect way to spend some time with a greyhound.
Peter Laurie, the Retired Greyhound Trust Chief Executive, said: "The Great Greyhound Gathering is one of the most anticipated events for many greyhound lovers across the country each year. This year will be even more exciting, as animal lovers are already bubbling with excitement, and registering for the greyhound classes. Simply put, if you love dogs, and especially greyhounds, you won't want to miss the Great Greyhound Gathering, so make sure you mark your calendar now."
